Dr. Giuseppe Chiaramonte

Bio:

Current Role-U.S. State Department English Language Fellow Nukus, Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan; Professor Nukus State Pedagogical Institute

Dr. Chiaramonte is an international educator who has taught ESL at the middle school, high school, and college levels in the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, and Uzbekistan. His doctoral research focused on teacher self-efficacy and its effect on ESL student assessment outcomes. Currently, Dr. Chiaramonte is an English Language Fellow with the U.S. State Department in Nukus, Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan where he is responsible for instructing a diverse cadre of English Second Language learners and training faculty and administration in current English Language Learner curriculum and assessment strategies. His primary duties include teaching classes for third and fourth year teaching students at Nukus State Pedagogical Institute. Secondary duties and/or projects include organizing, facilitating and keynote speaking at TESOL conferences in Central Asia, teaching workshops at language schools; organizing, developing, and coaching the inaugural Women’s Sports Club at Nukus Pedagogical Institute, facilitating professional development for teachers and administrators throughout Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and working alongside the local community to promote English language acquisition and shared cultural experiences.

Hannah Landers Organ, MA

Bio:

Current Role-U.S. State Department English Language Fellow Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Professor Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute

Hannah Landers Organ graduated with a Master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language from Northern Arizona University and with a Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Arizona. For the past 11 years, she has been an educator in the United States, China, and Uzbekistan. Hannah is currently a US State Department English Language Fellow in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where she is a professor at Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute. Hannah brings a wealth of English Second Language expertise, knowledge, and experience to the Language Bridge Academic Journal Advisory Board.

Feruz Akobirov, Ed.D.

Bio:

Feruz Akobirov is an English Language Program Specialist at the U.S. Embassy, Tashkent. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Kansas, USA, earned his M.A. and B.A. in English Language and Linguistics from Bukhara State University, Uzbekistan and his other B.A. Degree in Journalism from the University of Mysore, India.  Feruz has 16 years of teaching English language at Bukhara State University, and he is alumnus of the U.S. Embassy’s Fulbright FLTA Program. During his Fulbright tenure he taught Uzbek language and culture at Arizona State University during 2007-2008. He has been working at the Embassy since 2019.

Feruza Masharipova, Ph.D.

Bio:

Feruza Masharipova has 25 years of  teaching and classroom research experience teaching and coordinating English language learning for U.S.-funded Access program and serving on the faculty of a major university in Uzbekistan. She works as Associate Professor at Urgench State University in the Foreign Philology faculty teaching “Integrated Skills”,“Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages”, and “ Lesson planning “ to Year- II, Year- III, and Year- IV students. She cascades training developed by American Council’s English Speaking Nation project to both pre-service and in-service teachers (Khorezm RPMs) Feruza is the Urgench Access Microscholarship Program coordinator for the Khorezm region and serves as the Regional Alumni Representative (RAR) for the US Embassy. She mentors new teachers stemming from her previous teaching experience and training Feruza participated in the Fulbright Visiting Scholar 2013 program and the JFDP in 2008 program. She conducted research at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (UNL) California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). Feruza has been a leader in advancing the quality of English language instruction throughout Khorezm, Uzbekistan and can draw on her strong network of EL colleagues in other regions of Uzbekistan to assure a broad cross-section of qualified undergraduate candidates with strong EL capacities from across Uzbekistan.

The Language Bridge Academic Journal serves as a scholarly platform dedicated to fostering innovation, research, and dialogue in the field of second language education. The purpose of the Editorial Board is to uphold the journal’s commitment to academic excellence, inclusivity, and relevance in addressing the needs of a diverse global audience of researchers, educators, and practitioners.

The LBAJ Editorial Board members and Peer Reviewers play a pivotal role in guiding the journal’s strategic direction, ensuring that each issue reflects cutting-edge scholarship, interdisciplinary approaches, and practical insights. Members of both entities collaborate to identify pressing themes, evaluate submissions through a rigorous double-blind peer review process, and maintain high editorial standards. By curating a balance of empirical studies, theoretical frameworks, and best practices, the board aims to contribute to advancements in second language acquisition, second language teaching methodologies, and second language educational technology.

Additionally, the LBAJ Editorial Board is committed to fostering global equity in second language academic discourse by prioritizing contributions from underrepresented regions and voices. Our mission includes creating a bridge between theory and practice, empowering educators with actionable insights, and encouraging critical reflections that challenge traditional paradigms.

Through its dedicated efforts, our Editorial Board seeks to position the Language Bridge Academic Journal as a trusted resource for impactful research that shapes the future of second language education.
